A short walk away from The Pier and along the clean, popular (European award-winning) beach you can step up into Southwold’s pretty winding narrow streets. The lighthouse, set within the town and surrounded by traditional pubs is not far from the famous Adnam’s brewery. So if you fancy a pint you’re in the right place.
There is an array of antique shops and pretty boutiques that line the streets. Delis, cafes and quaint little grocers and craft shops are all to be found. Everywhere you look is a biscuit tin image or a chocolate box house. It’s as pretty a town as you will find anywhere in England. The surrounding countryside and rolling hills climb to the wonderful cliff paths if you fancy a stroll. The views from there are breathtaking.
